Help For Single Parents!

Are you a single parent?

Well I have some good news and some bad news!

The bad news is that upon you now rests all the responsibility of raising the kid(s). Now more than ever you must be knowledgeable and skilled in proper parenting principles. You do not have the advantage of a second opinion or anyone to help. It is an awesome challenge to become both mom and dad to your kids. This is a task which can be overwhelming if you are not well trained in parenting.

But I also have some good news! The parenting methods you must use as a single parent are exactly the same ones you would use if there were two parents in your home. However, it now becomes twice as important that you be skilled because you must carry a double load.

A child’s needs are the same whether there are one or two parents in the home. Children must be taught respect, to work hard and to take responsibility for their lives as they mature. Children (in an age-appropriate way) must be taught values, to work hard and to manage their own time and recourses. You as the parent are responsible to bring order into your home. You will only have peace and order in your home if you learn how to establish and maintain it. This takes the knowledge and skills taught in the Familyhood parenting program and the Kudos tools to make it all work!
