GREETINGS DEAR PARENTS
Congratulations on being parents and hanging on and hanging
in there for the long term! Parenting is the most wonderful
occupation in the world, it is also one of the most challenging!
I have heard people say that having a demanding job, being
away from home, and even being in a war sometimes pale in
comparison to the challenges of being a parent. Do you agree?.
QUESTION FROM A SUBSCRIBER cont.
We talked about ARGUING in the last newsletter, and gave
you one way to stop arguing. Today we will continue with
the second
avoidance
method from Dr. Jones book "Are
Your Children Driving You Nuts?" This method
is called Deflectors
and this is how this great tool works:
When a child continues to argue do the following: first,
acknowledge what he says, and second,
use a deflector. Deflector words are: NEVERTHELESS, REGARDLESS,
IN SPITE OF THAT, I UNDERSTAND, HOWEVER, and so on - make
up some of your own.
Your children will hate these words you use, but they
WORK! (Yes, these principles work for all situations!)
The third method will be discussed in the next newsletter.
DAD'S CORNER
Anyone can be a father, it takes someone special
of be a DAD!
THERE ARE THREE WAYS TO TEACH:
Number one: EXAMPLE
Number two: EXAMPLE, AND,
Number three: EXAMPLE
MOM'S CORNER;
"MAMA AIN'T HAPPY, AIN'T NOBODY HAPPY!"
"KUDOS FOR KIDS"
This program is available now, Dr. Jones has been working
on the program for some time, and thanks to parents who
field tested the program for some time, it is ready and
available.
KUDOS FOR KIDS
is a comprehensive program that is the practical application
of all Dr. Jones' parenting principles. It includes charts,
job cards, fun items, important relationship applications,
budgeting, Kudo Kash, and everything you need to run a
smooth, hassle-free home!
Kids think the program is exciting and fun, and Moms and
Dads love how well it works. We have reports of happier,
more peaceful and efficient homes.
TEEN CORNER:
TIME;
Children want to be with you! The won't remember
all the 'things' you provided for them but they will remember
all the times you spent with them and the feelings they
had during these times. Some of the things they will
remember are baking cookies together; fun at a family
night at home playing games, playing hide and seek, and
such; going to the park together; fishing trips, camping
trips; and just hanging out together!
To a child love is spelled time!
